Ups and Frowns

When life is hard
and you’re at war
know you’re not far
from something more

nothing in life
is ever free
after the strife
will come the glee

Sometimes you’re up
and then you’re down
for you to smile
you’ll have to frown

The price of joy
is often pain
you’ll have to loose
before you gain

Some never cry
they’ll never laugh
won’t take a risk
from a known path

from the unknown
